Tbird Regatta 2025 – Day 1
The day started out with a postponement for lack of wind, but patience prevailed and the race committee was able to get off two races before the wind went fluky and light(er). Fandango got two firsts to take the lead, Owl is in second with two thirds. And Corvo rounds out the top three with a second and a fifth. Click here for the full results.
TBIRD Regional Regatta 2024
Ten Thunderbirds joined in for eight races over two days. Conditions were great with moderate, consistent winds. Corvo dominated the field with six wins and two seconds. Congratulations to Steve, Piper, Jeff and John. Ken Lane (Roadrunner) picked up second place. And Dale Dunning (Owl) came in third. It was a fine weekend of racing. 2019 T-bird West Coast Championship Results
On August 31-September 1, 2019 the Port Townsend Sailing Association hosted the 2019 Thunderbird West Coast Championships. It was a well-run affair with a variety of windward-leeward courses set over seven races. At the skippers’ meeting Saturday morning there was grumbling of “can we postpone sailing until this afternoon, when some wind is expected?” The race committee knew better. Sixteen boats made their way out to the anticipated starting area at the center of Port Townsend Bay by 10:30 a.m., drifting about as the race committee searched the horizon for wind. T-bird Internationals 2019 – Day One
Steve Scharf has reported from the 2019 T-bird International Regatta in Boston that it was a light wind day, but after a one hour delay they got off three races. Eleven boats participated and the Raven crew got a seventh, a first, and a third putting them in second place at the end of day one. You can see the results on the regatta web site.
Raven Wins 2018 Thunderbird West Coast Championship Regatta (updated)
Steve, Stig, Simon, and John dominated the regatta with four firsts, three seconds, and one fourth place finish. And in late breaking news Magic Bus has been declared the third place winner. They tied with Invader in points and there was some confusion as to the tie breaking criteria, which as now been cleared up. Here are the official, final, results: It was an excellent two days of racing with better than predicted winds and good weather (after the fog burned off).
Thunderbird West Coast Championship Regatta – Sept 1-2, 2018

Tbird International Results
Seventeen races in five days! Everybody was exhausted at the end. But the wind was good and the racing was competitive. All-in-all a great success. Pictures are being uploaded to our photo sharing site.

Thunderbird “Black Book”
The International Thunderbird Class "Back Book" is the definitive source for the complete specifications of a racing Thunderbird sailboat. It includes things like mast dimensions, where the black bands on the mast and boom should be placed, length of the spinnaker pole, size of the sails, and much more. T-Bird Regionals A Big Success

A total of 17 T-Birds showed up for a really fun weekend of Thunderbird style one-design racing at Fleet 33's Northwest Regional Regatta. Thunderbird Northwest Regional Regatta – Sept 5th and 6th, 2015
The Thunderbird regionals will once again be held on Port Townsend Bay. We can look forward to two days of exciting racing and a tasty awards dinner. This fun event will provide the opportunity for us in Port Townsend to meet some new TBird sailors and test our skills against boats from other parts of the northwest.
