Great Last Races of the Nightcap Series!
What a day! Sunny and warm with good wind. It was a great way to end the 2021 racing season. There was pizza and beer on the dock afterwards, the first after race party in a long time. Let's hope that next year we can do a lot more. Thanks to Steve Scharf and Roland Nikles for the good grub and drink. The final results are being tallied and will be posted here as soon as available. SEASON FINALE AND PIZZA PARTY ON A-DOCK!
Frostbiting last winter. The 2021 racing season on Port Townsend Bay will come to a glorious end this Saturday, October 30, 2021. The weather forecast algorithms predict glorious sun, winds of 7-14 knots from the NW and they promise the mountains will be out in their full glory. The Orcas, eagles, seals and gulls will be there to cheer us on. Calling all Port Townsend racers. Come one, come all! We'll put an exclamation point on a fine season of sailing. Windy Weekends!
Mother Nature seems to think that the racing season is over, having provided an excess of wind the last two Saturdays, let's hope she relents this Saturday for the last race of the season. Rumor has it that Halloween consumes may be in evidence. Please note that the end of season party that was tentatively scheduled for November 4th has been postponed until January 13th, 2022. This due to an abundance of caution around Covid. Hopefully by January we will be good to go for a rip-roaring celebration. If it looks like it will be super windy on Saturday [...]
