2022 Sailing Instruction Time Limits Extended For Nightcap Series Due to the popularity within the PHRF community of longer multi-leg courses, the time limits specified in the SI's are extended on a trial basis for the current Nightcap series. Nightcap Series Race #1 Results – 9/17/22
It was a nice day with good consistent wind of about 6 to 12 kts. from the WNW. It was a committee boat start and the course was: S--Is--Bp--Mp-Ts--Ip--F. This course was a bit confusing as it included B (the Pt. Hudson bell buoy) on the outbound leg, but not on the way back. Most boats did go outside of B, but several didn't. WBF Schooner Cup Results
This year's Schooner Cup race was a light wind affair. After several postponements the race committee finally saw enough breeze to start (barely). Sir Isaac timed it perfectly and got off with a big lead. The other boat struggled in the light wind and adverse current but finally made it across the line. New Event: Wooden Boat Buoy Run – Sunday October 16th!
Don't put your boats away after the Festival! We will continue the celebration of wooden boats by having a new event: The Wooden Boat Buoy Run. It will be held Sunday 10/16 and will be a casual sail around the buoys and marks (and the Tower) on Port Townsend Bay. Sailing Rules of the Road will be followed. Thunderbird Regatta Results – Sept 4-5, 2022
With nine competitive races over two days the regatta was a great success. See the 48North article about the race by Ben Braden who sailed on Blew Bird.
