At 18:00 the wind was 4 to 6 knots from the ENE, and at 19:00 it was 12 to 16 from the WSW. Six boats enjoyed the changing conditions and appreciated that the COLD temperatures kept the beer chilled. The course was: city dock – Pt Hudson red buoy, tower, Pt. Hudson red buoy, city dock. There was quite a bit of outbound current at the Pt. Hudson buoy, which made the reach to the tower pretty slow, until the new wind cranked up, when it got fairly sporty and a bit wet. After the handicaps were figured the second (Falcon) and third (Pacifica) place boats were just 22 seconds apart, and fourth (Kuma San) and fifth (Varya) were separated by nine seconds.
