PHRF Fleet Split Into Two Classes for Nightcap Series

The turnout for this series is heartening but we are reminded of the inadequacy of the PHRF rating system to fairly rate boats with large differences in speed potential, especially over short distances. To reduce the rating range the fleet has been split into two classes, “A” for boats rating less than 200 sec/mi and “B” for boats over 200 and not flying spinnakers. Both classes will start together and sail the same course. The only change is that they are scored separately. Races already completed have been re-scored and the results are presented below.
