This week there was good wind. When setting the course the wind was ~15 kts. gusting to 19 kts steadily from ~120°M. The sea state was well developed with numerous whitecaps.
The 120° wind aligned perfectly with marks G & Y for W/L legs. Reaching legs out to B were discarded as unnecessarily uncomfortable. The course set was SGCGYF, 6.72 nm. (once again the RC erred, SGCGYF would have been more logical and given a safer rounding of G on the return).
After the start the wind at the CB veered to ~140° at the same strength. About halfway through the race the wind generally started to soften, and by the finish was ~10 kts with gusts to ~13 kts, from 120°.The whitecaps disappeared as the sea state subsided.
Great pictures Chance and Piper! Thank you for sharing. Doug (Andiamo Again)
