It was a beautiful day for a race. Sunny with good wind. The course went from city dock, to the Point Hudson red buoy, to the tower, to Indian Point, and back to city dock. The boats were chasing Pacifica on the spinnaker run to the tower when she slowed down and they all bunched up. The beat to “I” saw Pacifica round first closely followed by Corvo, then Kuma San. But this being a handicap race it was Varya who came out ahead of Pacifica in the final standings, getting third. Newcomer, Stromboli, did a good job, finishing only three minutes behind Pacifica on corrected time.
