The Dog Days are Here.

The first of  this years Dog Days races occurred today (Aug 01).  They are intended as an excuse to get out on the water when a lot of our regular participants are having family vacation time and consistent participation in a series is difficult.  Each race is scored individually, there will be no Series Standing.

They also de-stress the Race Committee in that the boats attending decide by consensus the course they wish to sail.  Our traditional marks need not be utilized so long as the marks used appear on Chart 18464.   If a temporary mark is desired it can be arranged by coordinating with the RC at least four hours before the race.  The RC will provide the start from City Dock, record the finishes and publish the corrected results on ptsail.org (but without the accustomed commentary).

Tonight’s course was SMF in winds that varied from none to adequate and back to none and varied in direction all over the clock but mostly from NE.
