At race time the wind on the dock was measured at ~0.5 varying in direction between E & W through N. The start was delayed to wait for the wind to settle and also to avoid conflict with a rowing race expected to cross the course. For the 10:20:00 start there was a 3 kt Easterly. As the fleet was passing the NWMC the wind suddenly sagged and backed beyond N before building back to 5 kts causing some interesting maneuvering of the fleet. The long finish times as well as wind records from North Beach and Diamond Point (never more than 5 kts until late afternoon) indicate a challenging race.
An error has been corrected in the results of the McCurdy Pt/Point Partridge race. The distance for the Protection Is course had erroneously been used to calculate the time corrections. Re-running with the correct distance has caused the first two boats to swap places for that race, it did not change the order of the standings. Note that the McCurdy/Partridge race was run before the Local PHRF rating for T-birds was changed to 150. The corrected McCurdy/Partridge race results are republished here, after the standings.
