First Clubhouse Event
Around thirty people showed up for the Clubhouse inauguration. Roland Nikles started the evening with a welcome and a few remarks. Everyone introduced themselves. Several folks signed up as members. Then Stig Osterberg did an interactive presentation focusing on race starts using photos he took from the committee boat this last summer. Drinks were quaffed and snacks were consumed. The plan is to have a gathering every Wednesday at 6pm in January, March, and April. Gathering at the New Clubhouse Wednesday 12/28/22
As you can see from the photos the clubhouse is getting a makeover before its first event on Wednesday the 28th of December at 6pm. Please come by for a beverage or two and some snacks and hang out with your fellow sailors. Thanks to Roland and Bobbi Nikles, Steve Scharf, Jen Bates, and Mark Blatter for all the hard work.
We Have A New Clubhouse!
As of 12/14/2022 PTSA has a clubhouse! The board has been discussing the possibility of getting a dedicated space for several years and it has finally happened. It is in the Nomura building (where the Skookum Jump Rope Company used to be). The door to our space opens to the Boat Haven parking lot directly across from the boat ramp. It should be the perfect place for post race gatherings and other educational events. More info coming...
PT High School Sailing Needs your Support
If you visited the Wooden Boat Festival this fall, you may have seen some beautiful bouquets decorating the multitude of boats there, and if your boat was in the festival, you may have met some of the High School Sailing Team Members selling bouquets there to raise funds. This year, as covid began to wane, and the Wooden Boat Festival returned, we decided to rekindle the sailing team’s tradition of fundraising by selling bouquets to participants in the Festival.
