The results for the 2023 version of the Winter Vashon Race show that Sir Isaac, owned by Ann and John Bailey got first in their division of eleven boats! Well done Ann and John. Winter Vashon is the first race in the Southern Sound Series, which consists of four races sponsored by four different yacht clubs.
John says: “The wind was up, mostly in the high teens to low 20’s. Our 1st 15 miles of spinnaker run we completed in 1hr 40min. Then we sat in a hole, then close reached and beat the rest of the way back. Sunny, gusty beautiful conditions. Ripley was the sole thunderbird in the race. We didn’t even catch them until nearly the halfway mark. The long beat in choppy water was more difficult for them.”
