It was another “interesting” Friday night race. After a city dock start it was then out to the Marine Science Center, back around the city dock buoy, to the tower and back to the finish at city dock. The wind was good at the start and it was howling all the way to the MSC and back to Pt. Hudson. Pacifica got back to the city dock buoy first followed by Kuma San, Varya, Andiamo Again, and Blew Bird. The breeze continued to lighten until it pretty much disappeared in the vicinity of the tower. However, Andiamo Again, who had been last somehow found a little sliver of wind and sailed through the fleet and rounded the tower first. Varya also made it around, as well as Blew Bird. Kuma San and Pacifica were stuck in wind holes at the mercy of the currents. Andiamo worked their way to the finish line by about 8:30pm followed by Varya who had made a bold move to find wind on the left side of the course. Kuma finally gave up and motored back to boat Haven. Pacifica and Blew Bird where last seen still out by Marrowstone Island hoping for the wind to reach them.
