This years “Port to Port Race”  will be a Club Race between the Port Ludlow Yacht Club and PTSA and will be one day, one way, only. It is a revival of a race the clubs had in earlier years. In this club race, the sailing association with the three fastest boats wins the perpetual trophy and bragging rights for the next year. The clubs alternate hosting the event, and this year Port Ludlow is the host. The race will start in Port Townsend at 9am from the City Dock, go around Marrowstone Island (not through the “Cut”), and terminate in Port Ludlow bay. There is no entry fee and there will be a party and BBQ at Ludlow after the race, hosted by the PLYC. A skippers meeting at 8am at the NWMC will go over details.

We need representation for the Port Townsend fleet!!!  We need as many boats as possible to go out for the event. It is a pleasant sail to a bay with great anchorage and marina and a welcoming sailing community.

The date is August 6th, a Saturday. Please notify Satch Yarbrough as soon as you know you are going, so he can let the Ludlow sailors know how many to plan for at the BBQ, by August 1st at the latest.

Satch’s contact info is:  beercanracer@hotmail.com or 643-3248(cell) or 379-6876(h)

If you wish to make reservations at the Port Ludlow Marina, their number is 877-344-6725.

Come out and represent your town and bring home the Gold (trophy)!
