For our last Winter Wednesday Program of 2026 we are honored to host Pam Petranek. You may know Pam as one of our Port Commissioners, what you might not know is that she has done a LOT of sailing, and has a lot of exciting stories to tell. Pam will highlight the dreams, realities, and lessons learned from a few of her thousands of miles of sailing in our local waters and beyond:
- 48* North’s Top Race Boat of the Year 2x: teamwork
- Hobie Cat PNW Champion & Nationals: focus
- Watmough Bay to PT: shredding sails
- Hawaii to PT: epic finale leg
- Van Isle 360: dismasting
- Melbourne Australia coastline: crew mutiny
- Hobart to Sydney Australia: hurricane
- PT to Alaska: schooner restoration, provisioning and fishing
A U.S Coast Guard licensed captain, Pam has experienced a lifetime of living, working, and playing on the waters of the Pacific Northwest & beyond, including sailboat racing, deliveries, instruction, and commercial fishing. A lifelong resident of Washington State, she settled in Port Townsend in 2006 along with her three children who are now young adults. She earned a BA in Education at Western Washington University and worked for many years as a public and home-school teacher. Pam is currently in her 2nd term as a Port Commissioner for the Port of Port Townsend.
Please join us. At the clubhouse at 6pm.
