Sloop Tavern Yacht Club’s Race to the Straits, a two day event which started in Seattle on May 4th and ended day one in PT then saw the fleet race back to Seattle the next day, had over 100 boats participate. PTSA member John Bailey sailed his 49ft custom schooner Sir Isaac single handed and got 23rd overall. John reported doing over forty tacks in a strong southerly on the second day.
In a related note, PTSA’s race committee supported the race by being on station off the Point Hudson bell buoy for both the finish on Saturday and the start back to Seattle on Sunday. Thank you to Jeff Brantley and the all the other volunteers who helped out.
