Eleven dinghies joined the fun for the second running of the new weekly dinghy racing series hosted by the PTSA and NWMC. The junior sailors crewed four C420s and 1 Laser while the seniors raced an assortment of dinghies ranging from PT11s to 5o5s with Lasers, an OK Dinghy and a Cyclone also in the mix. The racing began in a light breeze of about 5 knots which later built to a solid 8-10 knots by the end of the evening. The C420 fleet completed 3 races on the Windward -Leeward x 2 course while the others managed 4 races plus an additional start! It was a beautiful evening on PT Bay and many of the sailors enjoyed the racing and worked on their suntans in shorts and short sleeved shirts. Judging by the smiles and hoots and hollers, a good time was had by all! If you have a dinghy and want to come out and play, the racing starts at 5 PM every Monday. Even if you prefer not to race, come on out watch the fun. If you have any questions about the racing or if you want to volunteer to help run the races from the Committee Boat, please contact Jeff Brantley at info@ptsail.org.
