This year’s Schooner Cup race was a light wind affair. After several postponements the race committee finally saw enough breeze to start (barely). Sir Isaac timed it perfectly and got off with a big lead. The other boat struggled in the light wind and adverse current but finally made it across the line. It was slow going, but everybody kept moving and all but one boat finished the vastly shortened course. Sir Isaac lead the whole way (in spite of the race committee moving a mark they were attempting to round). Martha came in second, followed by Alcyone. The smaller boat struggled in the dwindling breeze but all persevered and even seemed to having a good time. Adventuress had to drop out before finishing due to time commitments, but they got close and put in a valiant effort. It was fun racing in spite of the light wind, but let’s hope for a little more breeze next year.
