Before the start the wind on  the dock westerly 3 -5 knots and appeared to be increasing. Long dark streaks on the water away from shore indicated better wind in the same direction. Course SIGIFBF , which allowed for shortening, was announced. After the start the wind on the dock was 3 – 5 kts from ~300 degM with slowly building long gusts to 12+ kts. The fleet had better winds and a quick trip to mark I.

About halfway to G progress started to slow. Unfortunately two boats forgot that this race was still part of the Whitecap series and popped their chutes. The wind continued to soften but there were some good patches to be found. The leg back from I to the shortened finish was a struggle in the disappearing wind. The last boat beat the time limit by less than 2 minutes.

Next week’s race will be the last of the Whitecap series.

NOTE: The first race of the Cat’s Paw Series, Scheduled for June 04 will be CANCELLED due to resource conflicts with the CMR the following day.
