On February 6th, twenty-three boats took off in big wind to go clockwise around Shaw Island for the Orcas Island Yacht Club’s 2021 Shaw Island Winter Classic. There were two classes shorthanded and fully crewed. And many different types of boats were represented, including a number of J/70s. Ann and John Bailey, in their schooner Sir Issac, were in the shorthanded class. And they won the race! Second across the line and first overall on corrected time (by about three and a half minutes). Congrats Sir Issac.
