Cat’s Paw Series 2010
Race 1
14 boats came out for the first race of the summer series. A windward / leeward course was used in a NW wind between 14 and 18 knots.
4 new boats came out: Mwal, Norma Mae (Catalina 36), Salmon, and Windsong. We don’t have a rating for any of these boats although Norma Mae was the only boat to finish as the other three did not know to go through the start-finish line on each lap. Also disqualified was Pacemaker for colliding with the committee boat before finishing, not that hitting the committee boat is ever encouraged, but by the SI’s any collision while racing leads to a DSQ.
This would have been a good evening with a somewhat shorter course to try for two races, but the SI’s have not yet been updated to explain that option. As discussed at the skipper’s meeting, if the race board has a “2” IN FRONT of the course letters, it indicates two races.
