The PTSA is looking for some additional help to fill a couple openings supporting upcoming PTSA events. Specifically, we need some folks to drive the COMMITTEE, the 28′ electric drive trawler that serves as the PTSA RC platform. The boat is relatively easy to drive and does not require any special skills other than basic power boat driving skills. There will be a RC regular on board for each of these to be responsible for course set-up. The regular RC team has a lot of experience with the boat systems and can normally address any routine challenges.
6 May- WEDS NITE RACING: Driver (4:30- 8:30)
9 May: SAT PHRF RACE: Driver (11:30- 4:00)
20 May: WEDS NITE RACING: Driver (4:30- 8:30)
20 Jun: SAT PHRF RACE: Driver (11:30- 4:00)
The COMMITTEE also supports the weekly PTSA MONDAY NITE DINGHY Night. The COMMITTEE serves as a support boat during these very low key sailing events in conjunction with a RIB safety/coach boat. These events start this upcoming week (May 4) and usually run from 5:30 -7:30. We are covered for 4 May but are looking for help for the remaining Mondays in May and Jun.
If you are interested, please email info@ptsail.org and we can discuss the requirements in more detail. I am willing to give COMMITTEE orientations/ test drives to any potential volunteers.
This is a great way to give back to the PTSA and support your local racing scene. If you know anyone that might be interested in volunteering, feel free to let them know about this opportunity.
