Port Townsend Sailing Association Promoting Sailing and Racing on Port Townsend Bay

Happy Holidays! The board met December 10th to put together the racing calendar for 2020 (minutes here).  Good progress was made and the calendar is being finalized for approval in early January.  There is lots of racing coming up.  We are going to have a Frostbite series this year, starting on January 4th, with a race and a party afterwards at the new Container/Clubhouse. Then we have the Whitecap series that starts on April 1st (Wednesdays and Fridays). Racing will continue throughout the summer and we end the year with the Nightcap series that finishes on October 31st. Distance races will include Smith Island and Protection Island, and an overnight to Watmough Bay. All the details will be published on the web site by the middle of January.

As mentioned above we are going to start racing early this year - on Saturday January 4th at 12 noon! It will be a casual, fun race and all boats boats are welcome. After the race there will be a party at the new PTSA container/clubhouse.  Good hot food will be provided.  Just head on over to the container right after the race. It is located next to West Marine (across from the yacht club).

The new year means it is time to renew your membership (or join for the first time!).  Like most organizations we need money to keep going, and most of that money comes from you.  Click on the appropriate link to go directly to our web site to renew on-line.

One more piece of good news.  We now have a full-time committee boat! Steve Scharf has purchased "Miss J" from Joe Daubenberger and is dedicating it for PTSA use. Thanks Steve!

We hope to see you out on the water in 2020, it's going to be a good year.
