Summer Sailing and Upcoming PTSA Events
July is flying by! We hope everyone is getting out on the water as much as they’d like. As summer continues, there are plenty of opportunities to sail, race, volunteer, and connect with our community.
Along with our Monday dinghy gatherings, sailors can enjoy some friendly competition at the PT Small Boat Regatta on August 8–9. Can’t compete both days? No problem—sign up and participate when you can. Learn more and register here.
Our Wednesday evening windward/leeward races are going strong. A big thank-you goes to the Race Committee and our growing team of committee boat drivers for making them possible. There are still opportunities for PHRF boats to join the Wednesday night racing.
The next Saturday PHRF Series race is August 15, with a 1:00 p.m. start. Come support this bay series and help shape the future of PHRF racing on Port Townsend Bay.
Also coming up is the Ted Pike Memorial “Regatta” on August 22. Get your anchor gear ready, practice sailing off the hook, and enjoy a fun day on the water. This unique race honors Ted Pike, a great friend of the PTSA community. Info and signup here.
We’re also beginning preparations for the Wooden Boat Festival, September 11–13. PTSA shares an information booth with the Port Townsend High School Sailing Team, and we always have a great time connecting with Festival visitors. If you’d like to help make the booth happen, please contact us at info@ptsail.org.
Finally, our chores list is short, but a few helping hands would make a big difference. We’re looking for four volunteers to lend a hand for a couple of hours on Sunday, July 26, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Please sign up here if you can help.
We hope to see you on the water—and around the waterfront—in the weeks ahead! |
