America’s Cup Live Broadcasts This Weekend
If you have the time and interest you can tune in to the live broadcasts of the America's Cup series races from Venice this weekend. Quite a treat to hear the familiar "Guys, we got a cluster f**k here" spoken by a highly paid athlete in an Australian accent.

It's an amazing sight with the Cup catamarans racing in the narrow confines of the bay in front of lovely and historic Venice.

You can find the races at http://www.youtube.com/AmericasCup.

PTSA Marks and Their Labels, revised 6/1/2011

Roundings: Marks are to be left to Port when rounding unless the letter on the letter board is underlined and striped, in which case that mark is to be left to starboard.

S Start, specifically the Start/Finish line i.e.; if the ā€œSā€ is underlined and striped, then you will start with the pin on your starboard side and the committee boat on your port side. The default, however, is to start with the pin on your port side.)

F Finish, specifically the S/F.

2 Go around course twice. You must cross the S/F line each time around. (This is the only time it is okay to cross the S/F line during a race when not starting or finishing.)

Yellow Tetrahedrons
The following marks are usually yellow tetrahedrons and commonly used for triangle and windward/leeward courses. They may also be used to provide a shorter course for the small boats or a truer (to the wind) course for any class. They could be set up anywhere in the bay.

W Windward mark

J Jibing mark

L Leeward mark

*GPS positions are all approximate, due to wind, current and depth. GPS for temporary marks are VERY general. GPS positions are given to give you a general idea where the marks will be, if you are not familiar with them.

**The red Pt Hudson bell can buoy #2 is to be passed on the outside, or left to shoreward, if it is not a mark to be rounded. If you are rounding it as a mark, then the letterboard will indicate which way it is to be rounded.
