The 3rd Annual Harvest of the Sea Dinner is taking place Thursday, November 8 at NWMC. It is a fund-raiser to support the longboat team from Mar Vista High School (Bravo Team) taking place from 5:30-8:30PM. The tickets are $30 and children 12 and under are free. The students will participate in all aspects of putting on the dinner with the help of Mystery Bay Seafood Catering.
Bravo Team meets once a week to go out on the water in the Longboat Townshend. Our primary goals are to assist students in developing the physical skills, attitudes, communication techniques, teamwork and leadership skills required to be an effective member of the crew. Students learn seamanship skills, natural history, boat maintenance skills and are introduced to the rich maritime trades community of Port Townsend. They receive high school credit through Mar Vista from the program. The class culminates with a 4 day expedition aboard the longboat in the San Juan Islands. This program has been offered by NWMC at no cost to the students for nearly 10 years. This program provides a much needed experiential and hands on experience for high school students in our community!
The Oyster Bar and Live Music is from 5:30-6:30, the Seafood Feast from 6:30-8:30.
